The Mid-Level Practitioner works in close cooperation with a supervising physician and a Medcor regional Operations Director, to whom the position reports. This position supports the values and expectations of Medcor. The MLP is expected to provide services in an honest and ethical manner; demonstrate good clinical judgment; deliver excellent clinical care in accordance with current standards including consistently good clinical outcomes and compliance with CE requirements; treat patients with dignity and decency; demonstrate good clinical management with effective staff management, conflict resolution, and compliance with applicable regulations.RESPONSIBILITIES:General clinical duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to the following (other clinical duties may be assigned): - Provide employee urgent care for injuries and illnesses that present to the clinic. - Provide preventive care, e.g, school/work/ sports physical exams, disease management and health risk screening programs. - Triage patients who present with injury or illness beyond the capability of the clinic to the appropriate level of care. - Discuss patient care with the patient, the supervising physician, the patient´s primary care physician and other care-givers as appropriate. - Provide occupational health services to employees of the Medcor client, functioning as an advocate for both the patient/employee and employer. - Document clinical care efficiently and completely with the assistance of an electronic medical record. Required Specific Clinical Skills: The MLP is required to independently care for ill and injured patients. The following represent some, but not all, of the specific clinical skills that are required: - History taking - Physical examination - Performance and interpretation of basic point-of-care laboratory tests, e.g., rapid strep screen or urine pregnancy test - Wound closure by suture, Dermabond or other simple wound closure device - Management of simple orthopedic injuries, including application of simple splints REQUIRED CURRENT CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:• Licensure in the State of Texas• National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) Certification• DEA certification• Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)We offer competitive salary and benefits package for full-time associates including: paid time off, CME reimbursement,health and dental coverage, 401k with company match, regularly scheduled hours and more.
